Five on Friday

Last time I posted I was going to be posting a Five on Friday but, I have missed a week. I came unstuck this week. A doozy of a migraine has had me keeping a low profile for a good few days. I'm not sure where it came from but I have an inkling that I may have been stressing a little too much about something and my mind needed a rest.

So here I am on Friday linking up with Amy and posting five pictures from this week.

One
A simple morning tea on Sunday. My parents visited and for a change, I didn't go over the top with baking. Just a simple date slice which was rather delicious.

 Two
Big sky country it's called and it really is. Up on the tablelands and totally lovely. Quite a lot drier than home and not much feed in the paddocks but beautiful nonetheless.

 Three
Thunderbolt's Rock near Uralla. Right in the middle of nowhere and a nice place to stop and even do a little geocaching if you are into that.

 Four.
I love to walk, hike, stroll whatever. As long as it is outside and there is something pleasant to look at. I like rotundas and statues and plants and little footbridges too. I'm really looking forward to walking in the UK.

Five.
Further to my love of being in nature, I like fungi. In my working life I dealt with clinical mycology but it is not of much use to me now to know all about that. I am still very much a scientist at heart and like to look at the natural world from that point of view as well as just enjoying the beauty and wonder.

Oh oh oh so much to say. Hope you are feeling better and that whatever it was you were stressing about is sorted. I received my card from you and have saved my cup of tea when I sit down to reply to you so that you will be in my thoughts when I drink it. I am so sorry that I hadn't written earlier as I had planned. I feel bad but excited that you still remembered and wrote. Love geocaching there are even a couple in our village too! It say you can't wait to walk in the UK. Have I missed something. When will this be? Might we manage a real cup of tea rather than a virtual one?

Lovely pictures! I'm glad to meet another fungi lover. My hubby always laughs at me because I love to take pictures of it while we're out walking in the woods. There is something really pretty about it and some of the colours are just gorgeous.

I hope your migraine gets better and you find some resolution to what's bothering you.

Have a good weekend

Hello from Canada! Found you through Amy's Five on Friday. I love to walk in nature too and hope to do much more of it now that the weather is warming up, though we had snow this morning...

Looks like great country to walk in with the dramatic skies, interesting nature, places to stop and do some geocaching. Migraines are horrible. Hope you've recovered now.

A great selection of photos. The clouds are lovely in your sky photos. You are going to adore England. There seems to be a picture postcard vista every which way you turn, once you are out of the large cities. We stayed at a B&B in the New Forest region where our hostess was an expert on mushrooms and fungi. She just liked the look of them and subsequently did a university degree on them. Her home had lots of little sculptures of all sorts. A delightful place to stay.

Beautiful photos Tracy...love the fungi and big sky! I would love to geocache around that rocky area!! I like little foot bridges too, always interesting to find where they lead to. I especially like the swing bridges you find in NZ. Hope your migrane is well and truly gone now.

A nice five there.
We used to travel Thunderbolts Way almost every school holidays to visit our Grandparents. We often stopped at the lookout though because the view from the top of the world is awesome.
You tea time with your parents sounds like a nice way to spend time.
Have fun in the UK.
