Father's Day

I do have a bit of a 'bah humbug' attitude to celebrations like Mother's Day and Father's Day and Valentine's Day and so on. It's the commercialisation I protest against not the sentiment. I do like giving gifts to my nearest and dearest so I buy into the whole show anyway.

So, Happy Father's Day to any fathers who might be reading this especially Tim. I know you will read this post Tim so I hope the picture meets with your approval and if not then at least avoids your disapproval.

We have to delay any celebrations until tonight because Tim is on duty at work today. That's how it goes in the emergency services, no special day is a safe day off.

The girls and I had a visit with my parents and I'm sure Tim has spent a little time thinking about his own dad who passed away in 2007.

Now I best go make something nice for dinner.

I believe the only person who you should wish happy mothers or father day too is only your mother or father.........I think it is odd hereing news presenters etc wishing all males happy fathers day.......

I'm with you on the commercialisation of celebrations. We just did some fun low key celebrating at home today. Good on your hubby for his work as a firefighter.

I'm the same. My dads been gone 25 years so I don't really celebrate it but my girls love to see their Dad so a 800km round trip was worth it. Ha, we'll be seeing them again on Wednesday when we head off on holidays to the Flinders Ranges (outback South Aus).
